From my Denver Hotel

July 16, 2008

What’s up everyone?

I just arrived in my hotel room in Denver (It’s Noon CT). So far this week has been another trip! We had our game against LI on Saturday night in Boston. For those of you that saw it, it was a hell of a finish with Christmas scoring as time was running out! I’ve never seen a goal like it and it was pretty cool to have been on the winning side that night.

After the game a bunch of the players from both teams went to the hotel bar to catch up on some mutual experiences and other lacrosse events coming up. It’s always fun meeting all of these guys and learning about their stories and experiences. I went to be kind of late…only to wake up at 5:30 am to make my next flight out of Boston airport across country into San Fran to help run Peter Worstell’s “Be the Best” camp.

This camp was pretty epic. Worstell brings 70 counselors out to work with 260 kids! The ratio there is insane. I brought one of my roommates Matt Bocklet for the week and it was a great time hanging out and catching up with him.

So that camp wrapped up yesterday afternoon and I took another flight at 7am this morning out of Oakland into Denver…That leads me to now, right outside of Invesco Field (literally, the stadium parking lot is connected to the hotel I am in). I’m really looking forward to playing and hanging out with all of these guys. We have some sort of a media event tonight at 6pm at the ESPN zone downtown. This should be fun and a good place to meet everyone.

BUT! The week is not over yet…Friday morning after the game I have another AM flight back into my hometown airport, Washington Dulles Int’l, where I’ll get situated at home so i can catch my breath (been holding it since Zummo made the full field pass to Christmas on Sat night)…Then I’m off to annapolis to play the Bayhawks at Navy Marine Corp Stadium on Saturday night!

Anyways, I just wanted to chime in and say what’s up to everyone. So far I have had a few pics and videos/suggestions for celebrations sent in to my email. I will post the winners and names on Sunday of each week!

Ride it,

Pur

Well, “Pur” is another nickname a few buddies of mine gave me in high school. They used to call me PR, then some of them decided to pronounce the word PR and it sounds like “Pur”…there you go haha

Sounds like your having a busy summer, but it sounds like a hell of a good time to me, haha. Good luck at the all-star game and keep doing what you’re doing.

  7. LaxGoalie says:

Good luck at the All-Star game and the fastest shot competition, you will win for sure, I’m going out on a limb and predicting 107 for you. Peace.

  8. Zach says:

Why don’t you just continue your West tour and come chill in Dallas? Come play a summer league game on Wednesday evenings, get some BBQ, get yourself a cowboy hat…you know, the norm.

  9. Josh says:

what do you do when you have spare time? (it doesn’t sound like you have much though)

  10. Jon says:

    Paul,
I did watch that game… IT WAS INTENSE! Once I saw Zummo pick up that gb and haul *ss down field and he tossed up the ball I was praying. Once I saw Christmas put that away I was dumbfounded… well until i looked at the clock with 3 seconds left and I processed what had just happened and jumped up and was going crazy. But I guess that makes Zummo worthy of the “9.” Good luck today.

  14. Jon says:

    I believe a rule change is due…..

Congrats on your jersey being tied for 3rd in most expensive for fundraising above even Chazz and Levielle and Poskay and Langtry and Mondorf and, well, you get the idea…

    Good luck vs the Bayhawks.

  20. Sam says:

    paul,

good work putting 3 home tonight although the win would have been a lot tougher without the contributions from sean morris and kip turner. he made some big saves while the rest of the team was still trying pick up the pace

  21. Josh says:

    hey paul

great game last night. where was mikey powell?

  22. Jon says:

jon who do you think you are impersonating me? put like jon2 or something next time i thought i just couldnt remember typing that

  23. Kyle Nielsen says:

I have a link on our team website for your website. Can you do a feature/blog on shooting on the run? I know our boys could definitely use any pointers. It’s helpful just watching your video clips, but if you could have break down of some sort, that would be super helpful. You hide your stick so well and release it so quickly, there’s got to be something to it you can pass on.
    Thanks Paul. Keep it up.

  24. Paul says:

Thanks for the love with the Washington game fellas. I love playing in Navy Marine Corp, such a great atmosphere!

Kyle- We’re in the process of figuring something out for an instructional video. It’s going through some serious thought process…plus, if I gave all of my secrets away this quickly, then I will be gone in no time!!

    PR

  25. Stephen says:

Paul, I think me and alot of others would really like to see your techniques and exercises that you do to perfect your shot, I also think it would be a huge hit if you put it on here and/or YouTube or even sell it!
    Thanks man, Best of luck

  26. Joseph says:
