Rabil's Army's mission statement is to make each camper a better
player as soon as they step on the field for instruction and play.
Unlike other camps I will not separate the kids into age groups and
play games all evening. Instead, I am a firm believer in hands on
instruction, learning, technique and quality. I find it very important
to have an important strategy that focuses on teaching important
skills for each position. What is most important to me is not that the
kids go home with certain skill sets, but that they go home with a set
of drills to work on their own that WILL make them a better player.
For the first half of the evening there will be hands on Instruction
by Paul Rabil and other MLL and NCAA D1 players. Players will be split
up into their positions and will learn both fundamental and
experienced skills such as dodging, shooting and essential stick work
techniques. Here is where Paul Rabil will give a first hand experience
of drills that he used as a younger player to improve.
For the second half of the evening campers will put everything they
have learned into action. This area will not be based on games but
game-like situations. Summer leagues are for the kids to play games.
This camp is to teach the kids the best way to play these games. This
will all come together by doing drills and playing in game situations.
As a bonus, throughout every evening we will play several challenging
games for lacrosse equipment prizes.
